Social media was flooded with offensive videos of female pilgrims bathing in the Triveni Sangam last week.
According to authorities, 140 social media accounts have been the target of more than a dozen First Information Reports (FIRs) for disseminating “misleading content” regarding the upcoming Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
Vaibhav Krishna, the DIG for Maha Kumbh, told ANI that 140 social media accounts that posted deceptive content have been the subject of 13 FIRs.
Since offensive recordings of female pilgrims bathing in the Triveni Sangam were circulated on social media, the Uttar Pradesh Police’s social media unit has been closely monitoring these sites.
Everything is ready for Shivratri.
DIG Krishna stated that “full arrangements” have been made for the celebration, despite the fact that a huge flood of devotees is anticipated on February 26, the last day of the Maha Kumbh, because of the festival of Maha Shivratri. “We’ll work to make sure there are no traffic bottlenecks in the Maha Kumbh region. Everything ought to go without a hitch. We’re ready for anything,” he remarked, regardless of the size of the crowd.
Over 62 million people visit Maha Kumbh
Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, stated that 62 crore pilgrims have already taken a sacred bath in Prayagraj’s Triveni Sangam, which is where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the fabled Saraswati rivers converge. Approximately 8.7 million (87 lakh) individuals took the holy dip on Sunday, according to the Uttar Pradesh government’s information department. January 13 marked the start of the Maha Kumbh.
Ayodhya Dham crowd control measures
In order to ensure safety and efficient administration of the Maha Kumbh crowd at the Ayodhya Dham train station, authorities have put in place a comprehensive crowd control system. “Before the’snan’ on Maha Shivratri, we are more vigilant. Here, additional security has been put in place, and there are now over 350 personnel in total. The entire area has been barricaded. Passengers are being taken to a holding facility that has been set up,” DSP Yashwant Singh said.
Train announcements are made on a frequent basis to keep passengers informed. Entry will only be granted once their train has reached the platform. We’re keeping the number of passengers on the platform from going beyond its limit. Every preparation is made,” he continued.
