Chhaava, starring Vicky Kaushal, is off to a fantastic start at the box office. Since its February 14 theatrical premiere, the historical biographical drama has made over ₹200 crore in India. On Friday, Vicky posted a cute video of his “nazar utraai” at home on his Instagram account. A customary Indian practice to fend off the evil eye called nazar utrai.

The footage showed Vicky standing directly outside the apartment’s entryway while Asha Tai, his longtime domestic helper, performed the procedure. As the woman instructed him to turn around to finish the ceremony, the actor grinned and watched. Vicky asked if he might enter once she finished, folding his hands.
“Asha Tai has seen me grow… in height and in life, both,” he said in the description. “उभे रहा, नज़र उतराएची आहे तुमची” (Stand there let me do the nazar utraai ritual for you) was her insistence when she saw #Chhaava yesterday. Chhaava dominates the box office.
On Friday, Chhaava’s producers declared that the movie had now crossed the ₹300 crore mark globally. It is the first 2025 Hindi movie to accomplish this. Both Madhya Pradesh and Goa have already proclaimed Chhaava to be tax-free. In the movie, Vicky plays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the Maratha monarch. The film, which is based on Shivaji Sawant’s Marathi novel Chhava, stars Ashutosh Rana as Hambirrao Mohite, Vineet Kumar Singh as Kavi Kalash, Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, Akshaye Khanna as Aurangzeb, and Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale.
