His reaction after winning the Award

It is a huge honor for me to be selected the ICC Men’s Test Cricketer of the Year. Being recognized on this level is very important to me because I have always had a strong passion for test cricket,” Bumrah said.

This recognition is a tribute to my personal efforts as well as the unwavering support and faith that my teammates, coaches, and supporters provide me on a daily basis. Representing India is a huge honor for me, and knowing that my work brings joy to people worldwide makes this voyage even more unforgettable.

Bumrah performance in the Test cricket

Although Bumrah excelled in every occasion, his performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been his best to date, as he has taken 30 wickets with one game left. He also became the fastest Indian to reach the 200-wicket milestone in Test cricket throughout the course of the series.

Bumrah took over and guided India to a 295-run victory in the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Perth when skipper Rohit Sharma was unavailable to participate. After Australia was all-out for just 150 in the first innings, Bumrah handed them the lead with a five-wicket haul before grabbing the final three wickets in the second innings to stop their 534-run chase.
