Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the democratization of technology and the development of people-centered applications in his speech at the AI Action Summit.

In order to prepare people for a future powered by artificial intelligence (AI), Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged for investment in retraining and skill development on Tuesday.

At the Grand Palais in Paris, the prime minister spoke at the AI Action Summit and stated: “The most feared disruption of AI is the loss of jobs, but history has shown that work does not disappear due to technology, rather its character changes.

The biggest disruption caused by AI is the loss of jobs, yet history has proven that technology does not eliminate work; rather, it merely alters its character.

Artificial Intelligence is evolving at a never-before-seen pace, and it is being modified and implemented even more quickly.

There is also a strong cross-border interdependence. Thus, it is imperative that we work together globally to create rules and governance that uphold our common values, manage risks, and foster confidence. Modi also stated

According to the prime minister, government is about making sure that everyone has access, particularly in the Global South. In terms of power, talent, or data for the financial resources, it is the area with the biggest deficiencies.

By enhancing agriculture, education, health, and a host of other areas, AI has the potential to change millions of lives.

It could help build a world where achieving sustainable development goals is quicker and easier. We need to combine expertise and resources to do this.
