Today marks the 76th Republic Day in India, and the main event of the festivities will be the grand procession at Delhi’s Kartavya Path. Leading the country in commemorating the event from Kartavya Path is President Murmu. The parade’s main guest is President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia.
On Sunday, January 26, 2025, India will celebrate its 76th Republic Day, with the famous procession at Kartavya Path serving as the centerpiece of the festivities. This day commemorates the 75th anniversary of the Indian Constitution’s ratification. On Republic Day, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Amit Shah greeted the populace.
Republic day 2025 key points
From Kartavya Path in New Delhi, President Droupadi Murmu is leading the country in commemorating the 76th Republic Day. Through tableaux and marching contingents, the Republic Day Parade, which started at Kartayva Path, is demonstrating India’s military might and cultural diversity.
Governors and state chief ministers held celebrations in their respective capital cities to commemorate the day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the National War Memorial on Sunday morning before the Republic Day Parade celebration begins.
Prabowo Subianto, the president of Indonesia
Prabowo Subianto, the president of Indonesia, will be the main guest during the Republic Day Parade in 2025. Approximately 10,000 distinguished visitors have been invited to watch the procession.
President Droupadi Murmu
President Droupadi Murmu will then take the salute to start the parade. Three hundred cultural performers will play “Sare Jahan Se Achha” on musical instruments from throughout the nation to announce the Republic Day Parade.
National Armed Forces
The Marching Contingent of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Military Band of Indonesia’s Military Academy will also march past the Republic Day Parade.
Swarnim Bharat
Participating in the parade will be tableaux from ten central ministries and departments, as well as sixteen state and union territory governments, showcasing “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas.”
The “fly-past,” which will culminate the Republic Day Parade, is expected to dazzle the crowd with an amazing aerial display by 40 helicopters and airplanes.
The National Anthem
The national anthem and the release of balloons bearing banners featuring the official insignia representing the Constitution’s 75 years of enactment in both Hindi and English will mark the ceremony’s conclusion.
