The BJP’s stunning victory has paved the way for a new chief minister. Leading personalities like Vijender Gupta and Parvesh Verma became the front-runners.

According to recent Election Commission (EC) trends, the saffron party will take 39 of Delhi’s 70 seats, while the AAP will take 17. This means that the Bhartiya Janata Party has officially reached the halfway point and will establish the government in Delhi after 27 years.

Tarvinder Singh Marwah of the BJP defeated former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in Jangpura, while Parvesh Verma of the saffron party defeated AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in the prominent New Delhi seat.

The Congress will not hold an assembly election for the third time in a row. Virender Singh Kadian of the AAP won the Delhi Cantt seat by 2,029 votes, while Kuldeep Kumar defeated his nearest opponent in Kondli by a margin of 6,293.

Sahi Ram of the party led by Kejriwal won 14,711 votes in Tughlakabad, Mukesh Ahlawat of Sultanpur Majra 17,126 votes, Jarnail Singh of Tilak Nagar 11,656 votes, and Imran Hussain of Ballimaran 29,823 votes.

In Rajouri Garden, Manjinder Singh Sirsa won by 18,190 votes, while Rekha Gupta of the BJP defeated her AAP opponent by 29,595 votes to win the Shalimar Bagh seat.

The seats of Chandan Kumar Choudhary from Sangam Vihar, Umang Bajaj from Rajinder Nagar, and Tilak Ram Gupta from Tri Nagar were won by 344, 1,231 and 15,896 votes, respectively.

The AAP mockingly proclaimed Ramesh Bidhuri of the BJP to be the party’s chief minister prior to the election. But the BJP insisted that the choice of the party’s chief minister was still up in the air. Chief Minister Atishi defeated Ramesh Bidhuri, who was running from the Kalkaji seat.
